Following on from Rétromobile, where Fiskens were delighted to sell on the first day the ex-Border Reivers Aston Martin DB3 sports racing car, the past two months have seen this internationally recognised specialist sell an unprecedented number of important historic cars from its newly refurbished London mews showroom.
London-based specialist Gregor Fisken and his navigator Simon Diffey were among the enthusiasts tackling the Flying Scotsman Rally, held over some of the UK’s finest roads between 31 March and 2 April.
Fiskens, the world’s leading specialists in fine historic automobiles, has returned to the Mews following the team’s annual sojourn at the Salon Rétromobile in Paris, held earlier this month.
The 1950s was a halcyon era for British sports car racing, with several marques creating a valuable engineering and design legacy for future motorsport endeavours.
With this year’s edition of Salon Rétromobile already in full swing, crowds have been drawn to the Fiskens’ stand to take in two pre-war heroes; 1931 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider by Zagato and the 1932 Bugatti Type 55.
Well-established as a season opener, classic motoring enthusiasts recognise Salon Rétromobile in Paris as the go-to European show of its kind. Fiskens cross the Channel annually to present their latest consignments to the motoring cognoscenti.
