In true support of this fabulous event, created by the Chris Harris on Cars podcast team, Fiskens helped to put the 'Red' into 'Red, White and Blue' for the Great British Jaguar Day at Bicester Heritage last weekend. XKD518, one of just two Jaguar D-Type's painted red when new and a highly original survivor of the breed, was in great company alongside some of the world's most historic Jaguars at this new event created by Chris Harris and his podcast co-presenters.
XKD518 was bought new from Bernie Ecclestone, the subejct of event co-founder Manish Pandey's epic biographical docuementary 'Lucky!", who was running a small showroom in Warren Street at the time. The arguably luckier first owner was a (very) young Peter Blond who, along with his cousin Jonathan Seiff, campagned the car in some of the era's greatest races.
