Victory for Fisken & Franchitti at Goodwood

83rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting 18-19th April 2026

Struggling to find grip in qualifying, Gregor and Dario were hopeful - if not optimistic - of securing a podium in Saturday’s all-Jaguar E-Type Protheroe cup. With no obvious issues, Valley Motorsport fitted Gregor’s pre-1963 spec’ E-Type with fresh rubber for the race to see if any improvement could be made.

Gregor’s lightning start showed early promise, gaining four positions to be running fourth by the end of the opening lap. Picking through the podium places one by one, Gregor handed the car over to Dario Franchitti in an assured second place. The four-time Indy champion’s clinical driving style ate away at the deficit to first place, which he then claimed as the leading car came in to pit for its driver change. Maintaining the gap to the chequered flag, Dario brough the E-Type home to a magnificent victory.

Elsewhere at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting the team were out in full force, representing Brawn GP BGP001/01 as it was reunited with its two sister cars and two of the men who made it an instant icon: Ross Brawn and Jenson Button. For the first time since the end of Brawn GP & Jenson’s historic F1 World Championship-winning season in 2009, all three cars were together again. Ross was also generous enough to offer Jenson the chance to drive his own car once more, much to the delight of Goodwood’s capacity crowd.

Fiskens was also representing a grand prix car of an entirely different generation, with the 1931 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 invited to be on display to celebrate the Varzi Trophy. This ex-Works car was a podium finisher at the 1931 Belgian Grand Prix, before running for Scuderia Ferrari the following year. That year, 1932, saw this sensational Alfa contest the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio under the management of Enzo Ferrari himself, and even achieved a win at the Coppa Ciano in the hands of Tazio Nuvolari.
