Fiskens poised to wow the crowds with biggest Retromobile collection to date

Fiskens, London’s leading historic automobile specialists, will unveil their most impressive stand to date at this year's Retromobile Show in Paris (February 5-9) by showcasing 14 cars that span the breadth of 20th century motoring.

The spectacular nature of this collection means details must remain under wraps until the event’s opening day. However, Fiskens are proud to provide advance details of four cars that will form part of their highly anticipated stand.

French eyes are certain to be drawn to a Talbot-Lago T26 GS which emerged from the marque's factory in the western suburbs of Paris in 1950.

As well as local appeal the car possesses an outstanding race pedigree, having contested the 1951 Le Mans 24 Hours and the following year’s Monaco Grand Prix. Owner Louis Rosier shared with Formula 1 star Juan-Manuel Fangio at La Sarthe, then partnered Maurice Trintignant on the Monte Carlo streets. Purchased by its current custodian in 1958, the T26 is now being offered following an extraordinary 56-year ownership.

Fiskens will also present the 1955 Jaguar D-Type XKD545 which George Constantine took to an impressive overall win at the 1956 Watkins Glen Grand Prix.

After being retired from top-level racing in the late fifties XKD545 subsequently took on a recreational role, but a recent competitive return has shown that it remains one of the fastest D-Types competing today.

The British racing theme continues with a striking 1959 Lister-Jaguar, one of two works entries at the 1959 Le Mans 24 Hours when Walt Hansgen shared with Peter Blond.

Powered a 3.8-litre Jaguar engine, chassis BHL 3 enjoys extensive period history and has continued to make regular competitive outings at important historic events.

The opening quartet is completed by a 1967 long-nose Ferrari 275 GTB. A well-known matching-numbers example, the car comes from the revered private collection of Gregory Noblet and enjoys the distinction of full Ferrari Classiche certification.

A further 10 cars will be unveiled at stand P63 in hall 1 when the event opens next Wednesday (February 5). For those unable to attend, Fiskens will post regular updates of the 2014 collection on their Twitter and Facebook pages.

This year’s show also provides a chance for friends and customers to meet the newest members of Fiskens’ team, sales executive Dylan Miles and office manager Sophie Dawes, as well as newly promoted sales executive Rory Henderson.
