Fiskens to debut a remarkable collection at Retromobile, Paris

London’s leading historic automobile dealership, Fiskens, will this week be displaying seven motor cars - some of which have never been offered for sale publicly before - at Retromobile, one of the world’s most prestigious historic motor shows.

The 43rd edition of the ten-day, Paris-based show is set to attract over 300 exhibitors from all over Europe with Fiskens’ setting the standard, displaying an impressive and eclectic selection of machinery from their current stock list.

Fiskens' line-up of memorable automobiles will include:

1930 Bentley 4½ Litre Supercharged: Not only one of the original 50 blower Bentley’s, but a Blower built by Tim Birkin’s company ‘Birkin & Cooper’ to his full Le Mans specification. First owned by the young American millionaire and wartime hero ‘Billy’ Fiske, this 121.4mph, Brooklands Outer Circuit Banking Badge winning Blower is offered on the open market for the first time ever.

1920-21 Peugeot 3 Litre Indianapolis Racing Two-Seater : Entered by the mighty Peugeot works department for the 1921 Indy 500 and driven by Jean Chassagne, this revolutionary Grand Prix car was subsequently used by Monsieur Boillet at his racing academy in Montlhery before forming part of the notorious Bonnal Renaulac Collection in Bordeaux.

1950 Jaguar XK120 Competition: Chassis 66041 contested both the Mille Miglia and Le Mans, where it finished 12th overall, convincing Sir William Llyons to build the C-Type. Its eclectic motorsport career also saw it compete in the Alpine Rally and the Tourist Trophy at Dundrod in Northern Ireland.

1951 Pegaso Z102: The crowds were stunned at the Salon de Paris when designer Wilfredo Ricart unveiled his striking prototype with a dry sump, quad cam engine complete with a five speed transaxle coupled to a De Dion rear axle. Prototype BE1 regularly competed at the Montjuich and Barajas circuits near Barcelona between 1953-55 and today is one of the most original Pegasos in existence.

1958 Ferrari 250 GT ‘Tour de France’: The 12th of just 18 cars built as a three louver, covered headlight example, chassis 0787 GT claimed a class win at the Modena Aeroautodromo and finished fourth overall on the Mille Miglia Rally. Under second owner and Brazilian Formula one ace ‘Fritz’ D’Orey, it went onto to compete at the Gran Premio Lotteria di Monza and the Trento-Bondone hillclimb, whilst recently being a regular participant in the Shell Historic Challenge.

1964 AC Cobra: Owned for forty years by the celebrated GT40 collector Gilbert Jackson, this exceedingly original Cobra has just been the subject of a sympathetic, $100,000 mechanical restoration and offers the remarkable prospect of an ‘almost new’ AC Cobra.

1965 Ford GT40 Ex Ford France: Owned by Fiskens’ Managing Director Gregor Fisken, and at Retromobile for display purposes only, chassis 1003 is one of the legendary Ford France GT40s. The first GT40 to win in Europe when Guy Ligier guided it to victory at Magny-Cours, 1003 had an extensive competition career including class wins at both the Nurburgring as well as the Targa Florio.

Fiskens Manager Will Stone explained how the company, one of the very few historic car dealerships still located in central London, was looking forward to Retromobile. “The show is one of the most important events on the calendar and we have worked hard to collect together a very special selection of cars. It’s a great opportunity for the public to see the calibre of stock we have to offer.”
